QuestionMy tomatoes are ripening on the top half but the bottom half are mostly yellow.
This is the first time that this has happened in the 10 years I've been growing them.
Would really appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks
AnswerDear Bill Collins,
We are in the southern plains and experiencing a similar situation that you have described. I believe it is weather related, as it has been warmer than usual this year, with rain in August after a very dry July. We have been picking the tomatoes when they appear ripe on the top half and just placing them on a table in the sun upside down. They finish ripening relatively quickly and have tasted good. It seemed if we left them on the vine for the lower half to ripen, they either split or began to ferment.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
