AnswerDear Gordon,
I used to live north of KCMO in St. Joe. I have received many questions about tomato blooms falling, this year. Is there any sign of tiny little tomatoes where the blooms are falling? If memory serves, the gardens start slowing down production in late August, and I know lack of moisture or moisture at the "wrong" time can affect the blooms. With the number of questions that have pertained to this problem, I'm going to suggest that it is a weather condition or something that is hopefully a one time event. I will continue to research the issue, but for now, I'm guessing it is weather related, unless the soil is just depleted. I, personally use natural fertilizer, and I know there are places that you can obtain chicken litter or other types of manure to put on the garden spot this fall for next year.
I hope you got to enjoy some tomatoes this summer.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
