Mold on cantalope leaves

Question
I have a white film on the leaves of my cantalope plants. How can I get rid of the mold and prevent it in the future?

Answer
Dear Danielle,
This question really stumped me.  I haven't ever come across this particular situation, before.  I have two thoughts about this.  If the cantaloupe are growing where the environment is too damp, that may be problematic.  I don't know where you are, but has your area received more moisture than usual?   My other thought is that your soil may be too alkaline, which could be remedied next year by mixing in some different soil or fertilizer.
I am sorry I don't have an absolute answer for you.  I hope the fruit is unaffected.
Kind Regards,
Kindred
