invasive asian plant

Question
Our wonderful neighbors have planted a very invasive form of an asian leafy plant that has taken over our yard. While they very generously let us cut any we want for our own use, it has gotten out of hand. This plant grows similar to ivy with lots of vines and roots. It has even begun to choke out our pussy willow. Any advice you might have for stopping this "yard invasion" would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Dear Lisa:
Where do you live?

This crop is water spinich. It is forbidden to grow in California already. You can stop to water and fertilizer them which may not help much. You may need to use herbcide, however, the other plants may be affected too. So just try to dig them out.

Sorry.

Thank you very much.
