QuestionHi, I am trying my first vegetable garden this year. My question is as the swiss chard is picked (a few leaves at a time) will it continue to grow or once all the leaves are picked that is it?
Thanks
AnswerHi, Nancy.
Swiss Chard will grow all summer. As you continue to harvest the leaves from the outside of the plant, it will continue to produce up until the last frost.
Chard, unlike fruit-bearing vegetables such as tomatoes and peppers, needs high amounts of nitrogen for good growth. Be sure to apply a water-soluble fertilizer high in nitrogen every 14 days.
Good luck, and have a great day.

Mike
