Question

Unidentified plant - H   Hello - I put down some compost in the garden, and now have a number of unknown plants sprouting. They have two opposing leaves, with some kind of formation in the middle as they get larger.

What type of plant is it (photo attached)?

Hi Paul,

The seedlings are too small for me to identify, other than to say it's a dicot rather than a monocot.  Those 2 "seed leaves" are not the true leaves - those will fall off in a few days as the seedling grows and the true leaves will appear.  Send me another picture in a week or 10 days and I'll see if I can give you a better answer.
