Thanks for your question. The first one is commonly called a "Corn Plant" (Dracaena Fragrans). The second one is a type of Cordyline, called a "Ti Plant". Both of these are typically sold as house plants, but they can be planted outdoors where winters are mild. You can see huge specimens in parts of southern Florida. Draceanas and cordylines are easy to propagate from cuttings. When they get lanky, the tops can be cut and replanted.
