Question
lilac parasite vine
There are vines growing out of the lilacs, they are as wide as the lilac branches they grow from. I did ask already and was given the answer that it was "dodder" but it is not, these vines are not "threadlike" nor are they clustered together. They simply grow straight out of the lilac trunk/branches. Some grow straight out of the bushes, some twirl around the stalks. I've broken them back because they block the sidewalk, 8 ft out and more. They are as thick as my finger. Attached is a picture of the vine where it grows out of the lilac bush.
They have leaves similar in size and shape to the lilac leaves but not smooth.

I need more pictures...One farther back showing more of the whole plant, one of the vine wrapping around a branch, and one of the vine plant flowering...
Many plants are classified by the structure of their flower...Since plant types vary from area to area plants that grow in your area may not necessarily grow in other areas...In what area (country, state, etc.) do you live?..I need to see a picture of the flower in bloom...Wait till it flowers and then send me the pictures...Or to get quicker results take some picture of the plant & weed to your local garden center for them to ID it...
