What is it?

Question
I have a plant that is about 2 ft tall. It is all green except for tiny yellow flowers (dime or penny sized). The leaves are large (heart or spade shaped) and green with a soft "fuzz" or hairs. The stalk is hearty and also green but when i went to feel the "fuzz" it was like sweat and instantly went moist when touched. That did not happen when I touched the leaves. It did not feel sticky. It smells "green" if that makes any sense.

Clammy Ground Cherry
Hi Wendy,

My first guess is Clammy Ground Cherry (Physalis Heterophylla).  It's related to the Tomatillo (husk tomato)and the Cape Gooseberry. If this is it, the husked fruits will begin to appear after flowering.  It is a member of the nightshade family, so all parts of the plant except the ripe fruit are toxic.
I'm attaching a photo, but you should look at other photos on the web to compare with your plant. This plant looks different depending on where it's growing.  For instance, the flower can sometimes have a brown or black "face", and the leaves can be more or less fuzzy and slightly serrated. If this is not it, let me know and we'll look further.

Thanks,

Susan
