Abutilon?

Question
Abutilon?
Abutilon?
I ran across this lovely plant blooming  in deep shade in the middle of Brooklyn's Prospect park. The closest I have come to identifying it is somewhere in the Abutilon family - but that's certainly a guess.
The plant was shrubby, about 5-6'h and looked well established along a dry and dusty hiking trail. It had five petaled red flowers and large maple shaped leaves. I have a couple photos of the flowers and leaves that I can send but not a wide shot of the entire plant.
Not sure how to upload photos yet, so that may have to wait.
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Peter,

You are right - it is a relative of Abutilon.  I would call it a rock rose or rose mallow.  The mallow family includes hibiscus, okra, abutilon, flowering maple, turkscap, marshmallow, etc.  It's a big family.  We have lots of native representatives of this family in the US.  Nice find!  Thanks for sharing it with me.
