identifing a plant

Question
QUESTION: I have a plant growing in my garden that i have no idea what it is. Its leaves are broad and flat and sticky on the back. When it started i thought it was some melon, but its not. It has a thick stem and it sort went up for about one meter and it also spreads as a vine. Flowers were yellow-white and now it has stuff that looks sort of like okra only at the end it is thin and end curls up.  I might be able to attach pics tomorrow.

ANSWER: It actually sounds a bit like a cucumber. A picture would help a lot. Sticky on the back is not ringing a bell. Also a location (country? region? state?)

QUESTION: It is in Texas and it is not a cucumber for sure, i'm adding some pics.

Answer
In researching someone else's completely unrelated question, I came across a picture of Proboscidea louisianica, or Devil's Claws, and it reminded me of your picture. I think you have a Proboscidea of some kind; there are several varieties with different colored flowers, but I think P. louisianica has yellowish-white ones.

Hope this helps.
