Question
I was given some bulbs. so I planted them, well first came up a large stalk like spike about a foot tall. The next season it has grown so far to about 10 ft. tall and has really large fuzzy pumpkin plant type leaves from top to bottom. The base of the trunk is about 3" dia.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunatally the person who gave them to me dont remember what company they came from. They were free with her order.

But you didn't mention flowers, which would be the most striking characteristic of a hollyhock.
