Hi in April this year (06) I went to Spain to visit friends whilst there I found lots of plants in seed so I collected some to try an grow at home. Only one of the seeds germinated a small brown kidney bean shaped seed. When it germinated to grew a large tap root an continued to grow (I have sent you pictures)
Now 6 months on it has grown about 6-7" in height has a very bulbous base to the stem an have leaves very similar to English Ivy. The stem and leaves are very stiff an spring back straight when touched. My specimen has recently started to grow what look like leaves out of where the existing leaves leave the stem
there is a small red edge to the older leaves along the very edge of the leaf

Hello Danny,
Do yo recall the form of the plant that you harvested the seeds from...Was it vine like?
Thank you,
Angie
AnswerHello Danny,
Thank you for bearing with me.
I have referenced a few guides to wild flowers in Spain and I think your flower/plant is "blue dawn-flower" (Ipomoea acuminata). Hopefully it will bloom for you and you can confirm this. It is a member of the Morning glory family and I feel as it fits your time frame for seed harvest, ease of germination, leaf shape and the bulb like crown. Please keep me posted as it evolves.
Thank you for your question and patience while I did the research.
