QuestionI have found a rather unusual plant in a warm to hot area that gets loads of water. It has thorns on the top and bottom of the leaves along the larger veins. It also has thorns down the leaf stalk but few on the main stem. The leaves are alternate and they feel like they have fine hairs, like a soya bean leaf and a similar shape. The thorns look rather nasty. It has 2 main roots going down with fibrous ones coming off them. It also has a strange smell. Any ideas? Or do you know of anywhere to start a search?
