QuestionQUESTION: Hello - I habe been trying to get the sprinklers to only run MWF and when I program it ON for those three days and OFF for the others, it will only run every day. The time it begins is correct, but I cannot get it to NOT water every day. We have re-programmed it at least a dozen times and with the drought every day is way too often. How do I make it do what I want it to do?
Thank you
ANSWER: Hey Kristin, the first thing I am going to assume, is that you are using program A for your programming. First thing I would check, is the other programs, B and C and make sure you do not have anything programmed into them. If you have checked the other programs, and you only have time in program A, and have set the days M, W, F, to "on" and S,T,Th,Sa, to "off", and it still runs every day, then you have a problem with the controller. Before having it checked out, take the battery out of the controller, and disconnect the power for about 1 minute. Now with the battery still removed, turn the power back on. Now re-program in program A and see what happens. If it still runs every day, then you can just remove the panel from the case, by pulling off the ribbon of wire from the back of the controller, and snapping the plastic hinges straight out from the case. Now you can either take it to an irrigation supply store that repairs the unit, send it to "Irri-trol" (rainbird is another manufacturer), or buy a new panel and install a new one. Good luck and have a great day.

QUESTION: Okay checked B and C cycles. Both were programmed. I deleted everything on these two cycles so only A is now programmed. I am curious how B and C being programmed would affect using A? I then opened the battery compartment and saw there was no battery. Could this be part of the problem? I put one in and need to wait and see if the every day watering has stopped.
Super appreciate your assistance.
AnswerHey Kristin, the controller will run all 3 programs if something is programmed into them. It could be that program B or program C had sat., sun., tues., and thurs., programmed to run. No the battery has no bearing on the programming, but if the power goes out, the battery will hold the memory, so you do not have to keep re-programming it. If the power goes out, and you do not have a battery in it, when the power comes back on, it sets each zone to run for 10 minutes everyday to start at 7:00am. Good luck and have a great day.
