QuestionI turned on my system for the season and as I was testing the 4 stations. I am using manual start to ensure each station works properly. This year, station one just keeps on going even though I pressed the manual start for station 2,3, and 4 as station 1 keeps on going. I do not have the timers stacked so my thought it may be the selenoid. What do you think would cause the system to keep station one on all the time while the others try to start but can't due to low water pressure from station one staying on.
AnswerHey Jim, usually it is either the solenoid or the diaphragm. Usually when the solenoid goes bad, the valve will not work. Or, if the plunger in the solenoid is stuck up inside the solenoid, then the valve would be stuck on all the time. First check the plunger in the solenoid first, and if that is not the problem, replace the diaphragm. Go to www.irrigationtutorials.com, and this website will show you how to replace the solenoid or the diaphragm. Good luck and have a great day.
