I noticed the watering stop last week. My Irritrol RD 600 -EXT has 7:00 AM always on the dial, and turning the dial does not change the function or output. Changing the battery does nothing too - the 7:00 AM read out just stays there. I can turn on the water by hand on the stems, but the system isn't working. Where should I start to remedy this? Thanks.

Your microprocessor may have been compromised. I would contact them directly as they do offer a repair service. Otherwise you may consider a new controller.
