QuestionHello,
Just moved into a house with previously installed Hunter XC system; I cannot get my system to turn on. When I manually try to turn it on, I know that I'm getting water up to the ends but it seems like a valve or something is closed. If I let it sit for a bit, manually close off the water supply and the manual control, and then turn them both on at once, I can get a bit of a spit stream but then water just sits on the ends of the hoses and such. I was hoping you could give me some suggestions to try before I call in a local tech to continue troubleshooting. The system won't work manually nor with the control box but it appears I am getting water pressure up to a point. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
AnswerHey Joe, If you are not getting water to the valves, and you know you have the main valve turned on to the system, you might have a master valve installed. what a master valve is, is an automatic valve that is installed close to the main turn on valve for the system. Before any of the other valves get pressure to them, the master valve must be turned on by the controller. I would check your controller first, and see if you have a wire hooked to the MV (master valve terminal). If you do, then more than likely this is your problem, and you need to find the master valve and either repair it or replace it. If you are getting water to the valves, and when you manually bleed the valve to turn it on, it doesn't turn on, then the diaphram needs to be replaced in the valve. Try these things first. I don't have a lot of information to go on, more information would be helpful. Good luck and have a great day.
