Questionoverview: we are in florida, have an irrigation pump that supplies water to our system from the lake. the system is not working. when i try to run any zone the pump comes on for 1-2 seconds then the relay below the control box "trips" and shuts off the pump. i can hear a kind of tapping sound coming from a nearby valve box until i slide the switch to the off position.
1. the number 3 comes up on the led screen
2. there is water in the pump.
3. we have a filter on the outflow side of the pump that got clogged with algae.
could the "master valve" be clogged? if so, how do i clean it?
or ???
thank you for your time and consideration!
AnswerHi Sheila,
Sounds like the valve solenoid #3 is in short circuit, look inside the control box and find out the wire color for the valve 3, locate inside the valve box, the valve with the same color, replace the solenoid, it costs around $8 bucks at home depot.
Let me know if this solves the problem.
Regards
Guillermo.
