QuestionQUESTION: Hello Guillermo,
I have a rain bird esp-6tm. I have had several issues with my rain gauge over the last year. The contractor who installed it wired it under ground and then hangs over my back fence. I want to bypass and not use the rain gauge all together. How can I do this?
Thanks,
Justin
ANSWER: Hi Justin,
Inside the box upper left, there are two ports marked Sen, disconnect the two wires and install a jumper between the two screws,.

QUESTION: Guillermo,
The only wires that go to the box are the 6 zones, the electrical and the grounding.
When the water gauge isn't properly connected (dogs chewed thru the wire), zones 1-4 don't work. This leads me to believe that someway the gauge wires are connected to zones 1-4 and then the box. Is this possible?
I was able to rewire the rain gauge so I'm up and running for now. Is there any other suggestions you have to bypass the rain gauge? Do you see something inside my box I'm missing?
Thank you so much,
Justin
AnswerHi Justin,
Its evident the common wire was interrupted by the rain sensor wires outside the box. Probably inside the underground valve box. The common wire is white, it should be cut and one wire from the gauge is connected to one end and the other wire from the gauge is connected to the other end. Just disconnect the wires from the gauge and splice the two common ends.
