QuestionHello,
Recently my Rainbird ESP-6 systems keeps blowing the fuse. I replace it and as soon as I put it in and plug the system back up the fuse blow immediately. As far as I can tell, there shouldn't be a wiring problem. Could a solenoid be tripping the fuse even though the system isn't activating that particular zone? Just curious. Thanks for your help.
Brian
PS The system is about 4 year old.
AnswerHi Brian,
You have a short circuit in the wiring or one solenoid
Check the common wire (white) make sure it is not touching any metal or any zone wire.
Check the solenoids, with an volt meter set to measure ohms, put the black lead at the common wire and the red lead at each zone wire . Readings over 20 ohms means a solenoid in short circuit. Below 60 ohms means an open circuit at the solenoid.
