clicking sprinkler solenoids

Question
I have three different valve boxes coming from one control timer.  Yesterday I noticed a clicking solenoid in each of the three boxes.  Strange, I know.  I've never had any clicking before and the clicks coming from the three affected solenoids were not in sync with each other.  One was almost a steady clicking about 120/minute and the other two were more sporadic with some fast clicks followed by a slight pause.  I did a test run of the system and all the valves worked perfectly, but the clicking continued.  I suspect some kind of voltage problem coming from the control box, but I can't figure out why three separate solenoids would be clicking independently.

Any advice you could give would be really appreciated!

Thanks,

Chris

Answer
Hi Chris,

The solenoid click when receive voltages from the controller. That means the controller is sending it to the valves. Usually this is  a controller malfunction. If the system is watering when is supposed to do it, don't care about it. If not or not watering you have to replace it.
