Issues with several zones not turning on manually

Question
QUESTION: I have a Toro sprinkler system that has worked for about 10 years. This year when I went to turn it on only two zones worked.  So after tring several things I have come to the conclusion that the silonid and diaphram are not the issues. Beyond those things what would cause a zone to not come on manually? I have hooked up the clock and you can hear a buzz but no water ever comes through the zones that won't come on manually either.  But the zones that do come on manually also work from the clock.  I have switched the silonoid and diaphram from a zone that works to one that doesn't and that has no good.  But taking those parts from a zone that doesn't work and putting them on a zone that did work that zone continues to work great?  Any ideas?

ANSWER: Hi Dylan

Do you mean manually opening the valve bleed or loosing the solenoid, if this is the situation it means there's no flow to those valves. Can you send me a more detailed info of your system.

Do you have a backflow
Are the valves in an manifold (together) or are in separate spots.

I'll be glad to help, you with a little bit more detailed info.

Thanks
Guillermo

QUESTION: Yea i have a back flow and all the valuves are in a manifold. if i loosen the silonid to far water will come out of any of the values but if i turn it just enough to manually engage it only 2 of the values work.  water is going every where through the manifold

Answer
Looks like the solenoids aren't getting power. Check with a volt meter the power at the controller port, you should have at least 24V. To do this
Put the black lead on the common port (the one with a white wire) and the red lead on the zone, and turn on the zone at the controller. If there is no power or bellow 24V, the controller port is damaged. The RD 600 has six ports, see if you have any available to use instead the damaged one.

You can try resetting the controller. Turn the power to the controller off, disconnect the battery and wait 10 seconds. Turn the power on and reinsert the battery and test. If not works it's time to get a new controller.

Let me know if you needs further help.

Guillermo
