QuestionI have a Rainbird ESP 18 zone unit. When I turn on 1 zone, voltage is applied to all of the zones and none of them turn on. What could be the issue?
AnswerHey Jay, it is probably either the controller, or you have crossed wires. To tell, simply take off the field wires in back of the controller except for the #1 terminal. Now turn on zone #1 and see if it works correctly. If it does work correctly with the wires disconnected, then the controller is sending a signal to all of the zones, and the controller needs to be repaired or replaced. If all the zones are still trying to turn on, with the wires disconnected at the controller, then your field wires are crossed somewhere, and you need to trace the wires to see what the problem is.
