QuestionJim,
I went out this morning and my lawn system just in the front yard and just two of the sprinkler heads were running, low, but running. The little round main where it looks like the wiring is in the front yard there is a loud high pitch noise coming from it. It is ear piercing! I turned the system off in the garage and it is still making the noise and the two sprinkler heads are still running.
I don't know what to do to get it running right again. Can you help me please?
Joy
AnswerHey Joy, the problem is in the automatic valve itself, more than likely this valve is in the valve box (little round main) that is making the high pitched noise. The problem is either the plunger inside the solenoid, or the diaphram inside the valve is faulty and needs to be replaced. First thing to do, is find the main turn off for the sprinkling system, and turn this off, this will turn the water off to the automatic valve and keep the heads from running. To check out how to rebuild the valve, go to www.irrigationtutorials.com, and this website will show you how to fix the valve. Good luck and have a great day.
