QuestionMy hardie sprinkler system is about 15 years old. Everything is still running fine on automatic. However, when I want to manually run a station (let's say station #5), station #1 always starts instead. When I turn the dial to station #5, manually set the number of minutes, it will flicker between two different times. Eventually, after playing with it for a while I can get #5 to come on. Do I need to replace the entire controller? It really seems like a dial issue, but don't know if there is something that is just loose or it is just warn out. I read that Hardie is no longer is business so if I need to replace the controller, will any brand work?
Thanks for the help!
AnswerHey Janet, Hardie was bought out by Irri-trol. Depending on what model # you have, Irri-trol does still manufactures a controller that Hardie once made. This controller is called the "Rain-dial" model. If you have the "Rain-dial" model, you can just purchase a new panel for it, and just replace this component, instead of replacing the entire controller. If you do not have this particular model, I would suggest replacing your current controller with the Irri-trol "Rain dial" controller also. You can use any brand, but this controller is very reliable, is easy to program, and will last a long time. good luck and have a great day.
