Sprinkler system stopped working

Question
QUESTION: I recently repaired my sprinkler system which had a cut main wire that was cut by the electric department while doing some work.  Before I fixed it I was able to turn on each zone by turning the solenoids.  I finally got it working and had the timer set and everything was working fine.  Just recently I noticed that my system wasn't working anymore.  I checked to make sure the water was turned on and even tried turning on each zone by turning the solenoid but none of the zones are working.  I don't see any bubbling or any attempt for the heads to pop up.  I looked around and didn't see any wet spots in my yard that could possibly indicate a leak.  Could this be the control valve is stuck closed and not allowing any water to the zones or is this a bigger problem.  Please help.  Thanks.

ANSWER: I am not sure if you are on well, city or nonpotable water but if your system will not turn on even via manually from the zone valves. The first step is to make sure the water is on for the system. Starting from the connection to the house line make sure all the valves are on including the backflow. Update me and we can go from there.

QUESTION: I am on city water.  The turn on for my water is down by the curb to my home.  I checked to make sure that was turned on and I also double checked the valve for the sprinkler system.  There are actually two valves.  There is one manual valve and then I believe the backflow and then another manual valve.  Just to the left of that is the control or main solenoid.  I tried turning that one but didn't get it to move.  I'm not sure if its supposed to be able to turn and I didn't want to break it.  I did shut the water off to my home a few days ago to do some work in the bathroom but I turned it back on.  Not sure if that had anything to do with my sprinkler system not working anymore.  Just in case you need to know I have a Hunter Pro C control box.  Thanks.

Answer
If you do have a mastervalve on the system it would be the same type of valves that your zones would be and if the water was not getting past the master valve then correct your system would not turn on.  If you are not positive if you have a mastervalve then just open the controller and check the wiring. There should be a mv terminal and if there is a wire in it then you have a mastervalve. Please update after
