QuestionMy sprinklers would not come on when turned on so I went to the pump to look at it and when I bumped the power box on the pump it came on and the sprinklers went through all zones perfectly. A friend said it was something with the points and they might be corroded and suggested I lightly sandpaper them. I did but no luck. I have tried to look it up on the Internet to no avail. Now I have to turn on the system at the box then go out and tap the two points together whenever I want the system to turn on this works but is a pain. Any suggestions?
AnswerHi Dylan
"the power box on the pump" sound to me like the pressure SW, When the contacts get to melted it is time to replace it. Buy a new one with the same cut off and on pressure. Look into the cover one label says 30 50 or 40 60. If it is not the pressure SW please send me more details as you can.
