QuestionWe have a Hunter Irrigation Control Box. We have it set for one start time for each program (a, b, c). The start time for each program is different. The problem is when I choose to use any of the 3 programs my sprinkler system does not shut off it keeps going. Thought it was the control box and this is the 3rd one we've had installed and we have had the same problem with each one. Now I am told that I can only program one start time and cancel out the others. So I can only use A until it gets hot and I want to go to B which is daily watering at that time I cancel out start time for A and plug in start time for B. This doesn't make sense to me. Could it be the wiring? Thanks, Barb
AnswerHey Barb, it sounds like you are having a programming issue, and I hope I can explain what the different programs are for. First off, you cannot just have one program run and not the other programs run. If you have something programmed into A,B,and C, then all the programs (A,B and C) are going to run. Again, you cannot just have one program run without the other programs run. Normally the different programs are used for different watering requirements. Here is an example: Program A zones 1 through 5 are grass and are each set for 10 minutes to run on Mon, Wed, and Friday at 5:00 am. Program B zone #6 is for a flower bed and is set for 20 minutes to run every day at 7:00 am and 3:00pm. Program C zone #7 is for a drip system and is set for 1 hour to run every 4th day at 2:00am. It sounds like you want to be able to set program A for a spring type of schedule and have it run just 3 times a week, and then Program B for a summer type of schedule and have it run daily. If you have the time set for the different zones on both programs, the days you want it to run on both programs, and the time set for it to come on on both programs, then both programs are going to run. You are correct, if you want program B to run and not program A, cancel out the start time in program A, and put a start time in program B. It does not sound like you have any other issues (bad controller, bad wiring, bad valves etc) it sounds like you are not understanding the programs correctly. Again, all the programs are going to run, if they are programmed to run, you cannot just have one program run. The only way for just one program to run, is if the other programs have incomplete programming to them (no start time, no days scheduled, no time in the zone run times, etc.). I hope this helps you, let me know if I can be of further assistance, thanks and have a great day.
