Question
During a thunder and lightning storm with rain and the sprinkler system controller in the off position, the system will turn its self on and water the three zones while still in the the off mode. Also, I can not turn the system off. The only way to stop the watering is to turn off the water supply. Any suggetions as to how I might correct this porblem?

Hey Jim, first thing to try is to take the battery out of the controller, then turn off the power to the controller for about a minute, then with the battery still out, turn the power back on and see if this helps. Now to figure out if the problem is in the controller of the valves do this. When you cut the power to the controller, do the valves shut off? If they shut off, then the problem is in the controller. If they don't shut off and the power is off to the controller, then the problem is with the valves. If the controller sttill runs the valves and it is in the off position, then the controller is faulty and needs to be replaced. Good luck and have a great day.
