Questionfuse staying on controller and none of 8 stations working manually is it the master control valve or something else or is it a replaceable fuse. how do you test valve is there a constand 24v to it and can you open it manually thanks mate
AnswerHey Michael, when the controller flashes "fuse", it means that one or more of the vlaves is faulty. It could either be a solenoid on one or more of the valves, or it could be a crossed wire or faulty connection. Take out the battery, and power off the controller for about a minute. Now power the controller back up, and turn one valve on at a time manually by the controller starting with valve #1. When you get to the valve(s) that is faulty, the controller will start flashing "fuse". The way a valve works, is that the controller sends a current of 24 volts to the solenoid on the valve, this solenoid has a piston inside of it, when the current hits the solenoid it acts as a magnet, and pulls the piston up into the solenoid, allowing a pocket of air to open the valve. Not knowing what kind of valve you have, to turn one on manually without the controller, you can unscrew the solenoid from the valve, and this will allow the valve to open. If you do this, make sure you don't lose the parts from inside the solenoid. I would suggest turning off the water to the system, unscrewing the solenoid, then turning the water back on, and the valve should turn on for you. Some valves have a manual bleed screw that you can open, and this will also allow the valve to open. Good luck and have a great day.
