QuestionHi there, I thought it would be easy to replace the control as it was not working. I took the wires off the old one, but didn't keep track of where they went. I thought I put it back together but the fuse blew, what can I do? I really don't know what wire goes where?
AnswerHey Karen, the only thing I could tell you, is how the valves are normally wired. Basically in the back of the controller on the terminal strip, you will see a terminal marked C (common) and then the rest will have #'s on them. Your common wire runs out to all the valves, and the #ed wires run to each individual valve. What I would suggest, is go out to the valves, and see if you recognize a certain colored wire, that is hooked to all the solenoids. This wire will be the common wire, and needs to be hooked to the C terminal. Once you can determine your common wire, then you can individually touch the other wires to the #1 terminal (one at a time) and turn the # 1 zone on manually on the controller. Each time you touch a wire to the #1 terminal, a valve should turn on. Mark these wires as to how you want them numbered on the controller, and these wires will be hooked to the other numbered terminals. Good luck and have a good day.
