QuestionHave a Rainbird ESP -4TM , Hunter Pump Start Relay PSR-22
The controller seems to be working correctly...Time, day, etc. When you hit the Man/Adv it shows going to zone 1 and starts the countdown, but does not kick on the pump or water. Have tried each zone and the same thing happens.
Is it the Relay or could it be something else?
AnswerHey Jill, it could be the relay, the controller, the wire,or the pump itself. To check the controller, take a volt/ohm meter and with a zone turned on, check your voltage between the common terminal and the pump start relay terminal, it should read between 22 to 26 volts. If it doesn't, then it is the controller. If it does, then check your voltage at the relay, and make sure you are receiving the same voltage at the relay, if you are, then check the voltage on the discharge side of the relay, if it is still reading good, then it is probably the pump. If the discharge voltage is not good, then it is the relay. If the voltage from the controller to the relay is not good, then it could be a bad wire. Also check your 110/or 220 voltage to the pump, and make sure you are receiving the correct voltage at the pump. I hope this helps, good luck and have a great day.
