QuestionI have a Toro ECx that I have been using for many years. I have four
zones setup to run three times a week (for 10 minutes each). Recently
I noticed that Zone 1 isn't starting automatically. Instead when it
starts up it goes straight to Zone 2. I have checked the setup and the
program is set for all four zones to be on and for each to be 10
minutes. When I manually run the program everything works fine (zone 1
starts up for ten minutes and then it goes through the other three
zones as expected). I have checked the wire connections and they are
all good. For the life of me I can't figure it out. Is it just a
faulty unit or am I overlooking something? Thanks for the help.
AnswerHey David, it sounds as though you have done everything right, especially if it runs manually okay. I would say you have a glitch in the micro-processor. You could try pulling out the battery and turn the power off for about a minute, re-program it and see if you are having the same issues. If it is still doing the same thing, you could also move your wire from station #1 to station #5 (if you have one) and reprogram so you have zones 2 through 5. Also I believe on this particular controller, you put modules in. For instance, you could remove the module on the #1 and #2 zones and place it in the #5 and #6 zones (if you don't have these installed). Then you could have zones #3 to #6 and re-program and see if it works on these zones. Good luck and have a great day.
