Question
Hi.  I have a Hunter XC system with 6 stations.  Station one will not activate from the controller but works fine if you manually turn the valve.  All other stations are working.


Any suggestions?

Hey Francois, it could be a number of things. First I would check your controller and make sure that the station that isn't working has a signal to the terminal strip in back of the controller. Simply turn this station on, and with a volt/ohm meter touch the negative lead to the common terminal strip screw, and the positive lead to the # screw that is not working. If you are not getting a reading from 22 to 26 volts, the controller is defective. The next thing to check is that the wire from the controller to the valve is intact and is not cut anywhere, or the connections at the solenoid are not bad. The next thing could be the solenoid on the valve itself, make sure that the solenoid is good, and if not, it needs to be replaced. The final thing, could be the diaphram in the valve. If the controller is working and the solenoid is working and the wire is good, then the diaphram is probably worn out, and it needs to be replaced.
