QuestionA zone or station valve ( 1 of 5 ) makes a lot of high pitched noise when it is activated. How would I find the noisy valve and are they all the same valves or differant for each zone? Where can I buy a replacement valve? thanks for your help. Ed
AnswerHey Ed, I'm not sure what you mean by "how do I find the noisy valve", can't you hear the noisy valve and find it by listening? Or is the valve noisy and you can only hear it through the pipes, and you don't know where it is located. I'm assuming you have no idea where your valves are at. To locate your valves, you would need a wire/valve locator. This unit will need to be hooked up to the wires in back of the controller, that runs from the controller to the valves. This unit simply sends out a signal through the wires that you trace with a hand held wand. Once the wand traces the wires to the valve, it will send out a bigger signal when it finds the solenoid on the valve, thus allowing you to pinpoint your valves. Each zone will have a separate valve. Any irrigation supply store will sell replacement valves. Also, some irrigation supply stores will "rent" you a wire/valve locator if you want to find your valves yourself, or you can hire someone to find them for you. Good luck and have a great day.
