Question
Jim,When plugged in the controller makes the ticking sound but the day of week and time of day will not advance. Therefore it won't come on. I can rotate the station wheel and it will automatically advance to the next station but even though it's set for a 15 min. cycle time it won't shut of and automatically advance to the next station. I have to go manually trigger it to move on to the next station. Replace? and if so with what controller?

Hey John, this controller uses two motors, one is for the time of day and the time for the stations, and the second motor is for advancing the stations. More than likely, your time of day motor has quit working. I believe if you check with your local sprinkler supply store, they should be able to get a replacement motor for you. If you need to replace the controller, I would suggest either the Irri-trol "Rain dial" series controller, or the Rainbird ESP series controller. Good luck and have a great day.
