QuestionQUESTION: Hello,
I have just installed a new inline valve Toro 53380, to replace one that was no longer working properly and was allowing leakage. I had done a manual test of the sprinkler system turning on all zones (1-11) before taking out the old valve and putting in the new Toro 53380. I carefully followed all steps of disconnecting the old inline valve and installing new one and hooking up the wires as there where. I turned the water line back on and leakage stopped. However when I went to manually turn on all zones again now none of the zones turned on....where did I wrong? I unplug the old Richdel Controller (model 612PR) to reset and reprogrammed the zones and again unable to manually turn on any of the zones to water. I have done the same job before with same inline valve but for a different zone about 2years ago and all worked fine. What may have caused this new issue?
Thank you

ANSWER: Hi Dennis
Looks like the common wire is disconnected or broken, the white one connected to the com port. Do the controller works on auto mode?

QUESTION: Thank for your fast reply. I looked at where the common port is but I don抰 seen any loose or broken wire.
I didn抰 try if the controller would turn on the sprinklers at the set start time. I can try that and see what happens. Again thank you for your expertise.

Thanks, check at the new valve for the common wire it should be connected to that valve and continues to the others.
This is what the manual says about:
One or more valves do
not water.
1. Faulty solenoid.
2. Poor wire connection.
3. Possible break in wire.
4. Valve flow stem is screwed
down too far.
