QuestionHi,
We have a Hardie P/N HHA 11272 controller. We had a power outage last night so when the sprinkler came on this afternoon, at an unexpected time, I figured that was why. I went to turn it off but the display was blank and it wouldn't respond to anything. Finally, it stopped when I unplugged the ribbon cable.
The controller is old (I believe it's dated 5/91). Is there a way to tell if it is still functional? If it's not, would you have a recommended replacement for it?
Thanks, kindly!
AnswerHey violet, what I would suggest is first see if it has a battery in it, and then take the battery out, then turn the power off to the controller for about 1 minute, and then with the battery removed, turn the power back on. Check and see if you are getting a good display, if you are, then the controller is probably fine, if not, time to replace the unit. I would suggest replacing it with either a "Irri-trol" Rain dial controller or a "Rainbird" ESP series controller. Either one is very good, easy to program, and should last a long time. Good luck and have a great day.
