QuestionHi There!
I am trying to keep a large established garden watered with sprinklers and such little pressure it practically just trickles out. We are trying to keep costs down and as the garden is old and established as well as being a large size drip irrigation doesn't seem the best thing? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. with many thanks.
AnswerHey Ethan, what I would suggest, would be to use what is called leaky pipe. Basically what this is, is pipe made from old tires about the same diameter as a garden hose. When you put water pressure into it, it basically sweats or leaks along the entire length. You could lay this at the base of your plant rows, and it will keep the water at the root zone for you. Not knowing your pressure, you might only be able to run a certain distance with this pipe for it to work properly. Lets say you can run 30 feet of pipe, what you would do is have a valve and run 30 feet of pipe, then have another valve and run 30 feet of pipe, etc. Depending on how big of garden you are talking about will determine how many valves you will need. I hope this helps, good luck and have a great day.
