Hunter Pro C pump error (P ERR)

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I have a 3 years old Hunter system consisting of a Hunter Pro C controller, a Hunter-22 pump start relay (PSR), driving a 1 1/2 HP 120 VAC pump. I am getting intermittent Pump Error Message ("P ERR") on the Hunter Pro C controller display. After reading "Peter" question with the subject "Hunter Pro C pump error message"

I call the Hunter Technical Support @  and they walk me through a couple of brief check up with the setup/connection and they did not find anything wrong with the setup/connection.

Here are the lists of the things I have tried:
-Check the 24 VAC power supply that activates the really. I was reading greater than 25 VAC.
-The Hunter manual specifies that the Pro C controller should be mounted 15 feet away from the pump and the Relay (PSR).  I have mounted the Pro C 18 feet away from the PSR and the pump.
-I have opened the PSR box and clean up relay contacts (As Matt suggested)
-By pass the PSR and run the pump directly from the 120 VAC outlets.  The pump works without any issue (As Peter have already tried)

Can any one help me isolating the issue please?

Thanks,
Anteneh

ANSWER: This is problem with the wiring to the relay and or to the relay to the pump. I had the same problem with a Humter system. After checking all the connections the problem continues, so I changed the pump relay start and worked fine. You can try this.
Good luck

QUESTION: Guillermo,
Thank you so much for the answer. I am just afread that I may have the same issue after I replace the PSR. I was just try to pin-point the exact problem.

The other option is to by pass the PSR and run it directly from 120 VAC outlet. What do you think about this option?

Thanks,
Anteneh

Answer
Hi Anteneh, I understand you, but I have been working with more than 100 hunter controller with psr and only one had the same problem as yours, to be exact I never isolate the "real"cause. After check everything and redo the wiring, the last thing I did was replace the relay. I'm sorry not to be more useful. .
Best regards,
Guillermo
