Question
I just installed a new pump. It turns on but will not pump any water. There is plenty of water in the res, i did prime it. At one time for about 5 seconds it did pump water but then stopped and just ran the motor. I am plugging it streight into an outlet without a pump relay because I am having separate issues with the electrical. But still I should be able to manually check the pump and sprinkler system this way right?

My computer broke down, I'm reponding from my cell, so I'll give a short answer, sorry.
This looks like a prime problem, do you have a check valve, if not you need one to keep the prime.
Can you give more info: water souce, the intake is clear from debris? There are no water leaks, air leaks?
