QuestionI just had a sprinkler system installed and it has been working properly. A week later, it rained heavily and all the electric valve boxes filled up with water and the sprinkler system no longer works. Will the system work again when the water drains from those boxes? Is this okay to happen whenever it rains or will the valves eventually stop working all together. What can be done to keep those boxes and electric wires dry? Thanks for your help.
AnswerHey Glenn, your valves should be able to work if they are under water or not. The only thing you need to be concerned with, is that the wire connections from the solenoids, to the field wires, are properly waterproofed. I would get the company that did the work back out, and make sure all the connections are properly waterproofed, if they are not, it could damage your controller. There are waterproof wire nuts that can be installed that will work just fine. Good luck and have a great day.
