QuestionMy system stopped working sometime last year after we decided to only water our front lawn by hand as per our neighborhood rules. When I tried to get it to work this year.... nothing. The controller is a Hunter model and it has power to it as I tried the outlet with a voltmeter and the display shows that the stations are running but we get no water. I tested each connection at the controller and they all read about 27 on the meter, the fuse is good, checked that. I found all of the valves and looked at the wires and they looked fine but when I tried to use the meter on them I got no readings..at any of the valves. When I turn the solenoid the system for that section starts to irrigate and water. Where is my problem? Is a wire somewhere? Please help. Thanks, otherwise I have to call a so called expert and pay them, I would like to try my hand at it first.
AnswerBrad,
Kudos for providing your test data.
A few questions:
Did you do a OHMS test on the zone wire so see what lines may be a open circuit?
Have you had any work done on the house since the last time the system worked where a nail could have punctured the controller wire or something that could have pinched the wire. Are you able to visibly trace the wire from the controller to the valves?
