QuestionHello, I have a front yard sprinkler system that is over 13 years old. I am having trouble keeping pop-up prinklers on for an entire 10 minute cycle. In bogth of my main 2 front yard zones, the sprinklers pop on, run for about a minute, then I hear a click in the valve, they go off, then, within 5 seconds, they come back on. This goes on for the entire 10 minute cycle. Is this a timer issue? I am thinking it is because it is happening on both of my front yard zones. Timer unit is a 6-station Orbit that is 5-7 yrs old.
AnswerHello Troy,
You will need to test the following electrical items so we can understand the issue better.
1st do a reset on the timer then:
1. Test the voltage to the timer
2. Test voltage coming out of the terminals for both valves and continue the test for more then a minute to see if you can experience when the power stops
3. Test the ohms on the zone wire to make sure that are no open circuits
4. Test the volts at the valves
5. Check all wire connections
Let me know your findings so we can continue the troubleshooting process.
