QuestionHi Jim,
I have a Hunter SRC 600i and when I plugged in the AC power an "ERR" message came up and has for days. Today I doublechecked all the wires and when i plugged it back in, i decided to take out the fuse, as a last ditch effort. I have the controller in the "System Off" Position and the display showed "OFF" as it should. And the ERR message has gone away. I am confused as to what expect going forward. Would a faulty fuse create the "ERR" message? and what does the fuse control in regards to the sprinkler system? I don't want to try running the different zones without a fuse to see if my problems are solved. - Thanks. - Jay
AnswerHey Jason, I'm a little confused, I didn't realize this controller has a fuse. Anyway, if it is giving you an err message, it means that you have a short out in the field, either in the wiring or in one or more of the solenoids on the valves. Put the fuse? back in and turn one valve on at a time. Whatever #valve or wire is shorting out, the "err" sign will appear. To get the "err" message to go away, unplug the controller with the battery "off" the battery terminal, and then plug the controller back in without the battery installed. You can also hit the reset button in the back of the controller compartment, and this should reset the controller for you. Again turn one valve on at a time fromthe controller, and when the valve or wire that is shorting out is detected, the display will start telling you "err", and this way you can determine what valve or wire to target. Good luck and let me know if I can be of anymore help, thanks and have a great day.
