QuestionMy problem is different than the ones that I keep finding when I search for problems with zones not shutting off. My zone 5 does not shut off completely for zone 6 to start, and so zone 6 just dribbles out. But when the system cycle is complete, then all zones are off and I have no problems. I've manually cycled through the system and it's only going from zone 5 to zone 6 that gives me trouble. Water is getting to zone 6, but with no pressure since zone 5 is still on.
AnswerHey Kimberly, it could be a few different things. It could be that zone/valve #5 is not shutting off on its own, and it needs to be rebuilt. It could be that the controller is turning zone #5 and #6 on when it is supposed to just turn #6 on. Also it could be that you have crossed wiring that is causing #5 to run with #6. What I would suggest, is to first find valve #5, and see if it has a flow control knob on it. What the flow control does, is allow you to turn off the valve manually without the use of the controller. Turn off the flow control on valve #5, and then turn on #6, and see if #6 now has enough pressure to run. If it does, then valve #6 is okay, and you need to focus your attention on valve #5. IF valve #6 still doesn't have enough pressure with valve #5 turned off, then you might have a problem with valve #5 and valve #6. Try turning off the flow control on #5 first, and let me know what you find out, and we can go from there. Good luck and have a great day.
