QuestionI have 5 stations on my system. Station 2 comes on with all the other 4 stations. I have disconected the appropriate wire from station 2 terminal inside the controller box, so i assume the problem is not with the controller. Can you help?
AnswerHey Steve, I hope this helps. It sounds like it could be one of two things. If your system has a master valve installed, the valve could have a bad diaphram. Check in the back of your controller where you disconnected the wire and see if you have a wire hooked to the MV (master valve terminal). If you do, then what the master valve does, is when the controller opens a valve, it also opens the master valve, and the master valve supplies water to all the other valves. If the master valve does not open, then none of the other valves will operate. If you have a master valve, when the controller is off, no water pressure will be supplied to the other valves. If a valve is bad and is stuck on, with a master valve, it will only run when the controller is on (master valve turned on). If you don't have a master valve, and the valve is stuck on, it would run all the time, because the valves would have water pressure all the time. So if your system has a master valve, then the valve is stuck on, and the problem is probably a bad diaphram. Now if you don't have a master valve, and you have disconnected the #2 wire and it comes on with the other valves, then your hot wire that runs to valve #2 (the wire you disconnected) is crossing the other hot wires of the other valves. You would need to trace the wire, and find out where it is cut or nicked. Let me know what you find out and if you need anymore help, thanks and have a great day.
