Question
After a recent freeze and thaw, I noticed that water was free flowing through the vent on my backflow preventer.  I have removed for visual inspection but have not found anything wrong with the internals.  Maybe I need to look closer.  The model is a Wilkins RK34-375V.  Any suggestions other than just purchasing a new one??  Thanks

Hey Robert, usually what happens is when the ice expands, it cracks the poppet assembly, and then it doesn't seat right. You should be able to get a new poppet assembly and just replace these pieces.
