sprinklers in slope

Question
Hi
We just redid our backyard due to installation of a pool   We live on a hill and therefore have a slope on our side yard that is about 6 feet wide with a retaining wall.  Part of our slope gets sun and the rest gets partial shade.  Prior to our pool we had sprinklers put in our slope only at the bottom and we found that 1. the plants never got enough water and 2. the water would drain below the retaining wall.  What should we be looking for when we are getting estimates for the sprinklers to be done now?  Where is the best placement of sprinklers to help the plants on the slope grow and get enough water?  Thanks

Answer
Hey Susan, I hope this helps. I would suggest putting in a drip system, if all you need to water is individual plants. This way just the plant will get water, and you won't waste water, and it should also reduce the amount of water draining below the retaining wall. Any contractor should be licensed and insured, and also get a list of references from them from past customers. The cheapest price is not always the best. Once you get some bids, I would be happy to give you advice on what they bid. Let me know, thanks and have a great day.
